1. rules

The event is organized in accordance with the regulations of the Swiss Athletics Federation SLV, the Association of International Marathons AIMS and the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF.

2. eligibility to participate

Only very well-trained runners are able to meet the requirements of the Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon. Each participant bears full personal responsibility for his/her state of health. It can be life-threatening to start shortly after an infectious illness (angina, flu). The same applies to taking painkillers and similar medication before the start.

3. controls

Start and run-through checks are carried out. Doping controls may be carried out at the Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon.

4. walking aids

5. accompanying vehicles

No private vehicles (including bicycles) are permitted on the entire course.

6. disqualifications/protests

The jury (race management) will decide on disqualifications. Protests must be submitted in writing to the finish line manager no later than 30 minutes after the finish (deposit: CHF 50.-). Anyone behaving in an unsportsmanlike manner (taking shortcuts, disregarding official instructions, doping) will be disqualified without exception and their race number will be removed. Runners who reach the course marshals below after the checkpoint has closed will no longer be classified and will no longer be able to take advantage of the services (refreshments, first aid, awards).

The start numbers of runners who pass the checkpoints after the checkpoints have closed and still wish to continue will be marked with a colored felt-tip pen.
