Code of Conduct
The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon is more than just a sporting competition. It is a shared experience in the midst of the majestic mountain world. In order to ensure safety, fairness and respectful interaction with each other and with nature, all participants, helpers and spectators undertake to comply with this code of conduct.
1. respect for people and nature
- Treat fellow runners, helpers and spectators with respect and consideration.
- Refrain from discriminatory, offensive or aggressive language and behavior.
- Pay attention to the sensitive alpine environment: waste belongs in the garbage cans provided and not on the trail.
2. fairness in the competition
- Follow the official rules and instructions of the organizers.
- No unauthorized help, shortcuts or manipulation.
- Support other participants in emergencies. The sporting spirit is more important than winning.
3. safety first
- Listen to your body and do not overestimate yourself, especially in alpine terrain.
- Wear the recommended equipment and heed weather warnings.
- Report accidents or dangerous situations to the organizing team immediately.
4. sustainability and responsibility
- Use public transportation where possible and/or carpool.
- Support local suppliers and pay attention to sustainable products.
- Respect wildlife and plants. Stay on the marked trails.
5 Community and being a role model
- Be a role model for others, especially for younger participants.
- Celebrate the sporting achievements of others with recognition and joy.
- Contribute to a positive atmosphere. The Gornergrat Zermatt Marathon is a celebration for everyone!
